H-Lee Lab

Our laboratory is part of the Division of Life Sciences at Korea University. We investigate how cells interact with bacteria, viruses, hormones, metabolites, drugs, and other components of their surroundings. We combine genome-wide screening approaches with traditional biochemical techniques to identify genes involved in biological processes through systematic, unbiased testing.

Our Approach

Research overview

We combine genome-wide screening approaches with traditional biochemical techniques to identify genes involved in biological processes through systematic, unbiased testing of over-expression or inhibition of human genes.

  • Genome-wide screening and functional genomics
  • Host–bacteria interactions
  • Glycosylation and protein topology
  • Extracellular vesicle biogenesis and uptake
  • Targeted protein degradation and protein engineering
  • Receptor–ligand interactions
  • Fatty acid metabolism and cellular responses
  • CRISPR/Cas7-11 screening platform
  • Gut mycobiome
